Hire a remote bookkeeper who closes your books on time

We recruit English-speaking bookkeepers in Mexico and Latin America who keep your transactions categorized, your accounts reconciled and your reports ready, working the same hours you do.

Also hired as: Remote Bookkeeper · Virtual Bookkeeper · QuickBooks Bookkeeper · Full-Charge Bookkeeper · Accounting Clerk

What a nearshore Bookkeeper does for you

A bookkeeper keeps the day-to-day financial record of your business accurate and current. That means categorizing bank and card transactions, entering and paying bills, invoicing customers and applying payments, reconciling every bank and credit card account each month and handing your owner, accountant or CPA a clean set of books. A full-charge bookkeeper goes further, taking the books through to monthly financial statements and simple adjusting entries.

Bookkeepers are hired by small businesses that have outgrown doing it themselves, by multi-location operators such as restaurants, clinics, property managers and contractors, and by CPA and bookkeeping firms that need more hands for monthly client work. In a firm, the bookkeeper may work in many different client files in a single week and needs to switch context fast. In-house, they know one business deeply, including its vendors, its quirks and which customer always pays late.

Bookkeeping is detail work, but it is also constant small questions: what was this $1,240 charge, is this vendor a 1099 contractor, should this deposit be a loan or revenue. A nearshore bookkeeper who works your hours can ask and get an answer the same day, so the uncategorized pile never builds up. It also means they can reach your bank, vendors or payment processor during U.S. business hours when something does not tie.

Tell us what you run on and what you need covered. We screen for hands-on experience in QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop or Xero, bank feed and rules management, monthly reconciliations, AP and AR basics, W-9 collection and 1099 preparation, and sales tax tracking. If you're in an industry with its own wrinkles, such as job costing for contractors or class tracking for multiple locations, we'll screen for that too.

Hiring a remote Bookkeeper: questions

Can a remote bookkeeper work in our QuickBooks?

Yes. QuickBooks Online and Xero are cloud-based, so you simply invite your bookkeeper as a user with the access level you choose. If you use QuickBooks Desktop, it can be reached through hosted desktop or a secure remote connection.

What's the difference between a bookkeeper and an accountant?

A bookkeeper records and reconciles day-to-day transactions. An accountant adjusts those records under U.S. GAAP, runs the close and produces financial statements, and a CPA typically handles tax returns and attest work. Many small businesses start with a bookkeeper and add an accountant as they grow.

Can they handle our 1099s?

They can collect W-9s, track which vendors are reportable and prepare 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC data in your accounting software or filing tool. You or your CPA approve and file under your authorization.

Can they catch up books that are months behind?

Yes, cleanup and catch-up work is common. Tell us how far behind you are on the strategy call so we can look for a candidate with that experience.

Is a full-time bookkeeper too much for a small business?

If your books only need a few hours a month, a full-time hire may be more than you need. Many clients give a full-time bookkeeper AP, AR, collections and admin work alongside the books, and we can talk through the right scope.

How long does it take to hire a bookkeeper?

It depends on the software and industry experience you need. We'll give you a realistic timeline on the strategy call.
