Nearshore staffing, explained

Your team. Your hours. Just a short flight away.

Nearshore staffing means hiring professionals in nearby countries, for U.S. companies that is Mexico and Latin America, who are time-zone aligned with you: they work your business hours, join your meetings live and answer your messages the same day, without anyone working through the night.

Time-zone aligned

Who's at work right now?

Drag through a Houston workday and see who is at their desk with you. Nearshore teams work your day. Offshore teams work their night.

Offshore teams can cover your hours too, but only by working nights. That is hard to sustain: people get tired, and tired teams make mistakes and leave.

Nearshore, offshore and onshore

Onshore means hiring in your own country. Offshore means hiring far away, usually in Asia, where the workday is opposite to yours. Nearshore sits in between: talent in a nearby country, in a time zone close to yours.

The term most people use for that last part is time-zone aligned. It's more accurate than "same time zone": a teammate in Bogotá may be an hour ahead of Houston for part of the year, but their workday still lines up with yours. What matters is that you share a working day.

A short flight, not a day of travel

When it's time to meet in person, onboard or train, nearshore teammates can be in your office the same day.

  • Houston → Mexico Cityabout 2.5 hours
  • Houston → Bogotáabout 5 hours
  • Houston → Manilaabout 19 hours

Typical travel times, including a connection where needed. Actual times vary by route.

Why U.S. companies choose nearshore

  • Highly educated

Our candidates hold university degrees and professional certifications, and some studied in the United States.

  • They know how U.S. business works

Many have lived in or traveled to the U.S., so expectations around communication, deadlines and customer service feel familiar from day one.

  • They can come to you

In many cases, nearshore hires can travel for short visits to meet the team, train on site or join an important kickoff.

  • Fluent, everyday English

We screen every candidate for the professional English your team uses in meetings, calls and writing.

  • Your hours, without night shifts

Time-zone aligned teammates work a normal daytime schedule in their country, so they stay rested, sharp and around for the long term.

  • A close cultural fit

Shared holidays, similar working habits and a strong culture of service make collaboration feel natural.

  • Real savings

Hire experienced professionals for up to 70% less than the fully loaded cost of a comparable U.S. hire.

  • People who stay

Daytime work, a real place on your team and room to grow mean less turnover than night-shift outsourcing.

Nearshore staffing FAQs

What does nearshore staffing mean?

Hiring professionals in nearby countries that share your working day. For U.S. companies that usually means Mexico, Central America and South America.

What is the difference between nearshore and offshore?

Distance and time. Offshore teams are usually 10 or more hours away, so working your hours means working their night. Nearshore teams are a few hours away at most and work your hours during their normal day.

Is it the same time zone?

Often it's the same or within an hour or two. That's why we say time-zone aligned: your workdays overlap fully, even when the clocks differ slightly.

Can nearshore employees visit our office?

In many cases, yes. Flights from Latin America to most U.S. cities are short, so in-person kickoffs, training and team events are practical.

How do you vet candidates?

We screen for skills, English, communication, cultural fit and time-zone compatibility before you meet anyone. See our hiring process.
